10 tile files - or the big tile comeback for Simea

(we have a german and english post for all you out there!)

Ihr Lieben, in nächster Zeit wird es hier viel zum Thema "Home"/ "BAuen" und "Wohnen" geben. Weil, wenn ihr das vielleicht mitbekommen habt, wir als Simea und Familie, ein altes Haus renoviert haben. Und über diesen Umbau habe ich ein Buch geschrieben, das diesen Sommer herauskommen wird. Und deswegen war ich nicht so in der Lage wirklich viele Bilder mit euch zu teilen, da ich euch ja überraschen wollte... Aber da nur ein Stock im Buch drin ist, und wir im Moment immer weiter im 2. Stock bauen, kann ich euch viel zeigen - ein zweites Bad, zwei Kinderzimmer, ein Büro und ein zweites Wohnzimmer... Und viele Projekte, extra dafür, cool, oder?

You guys, it is going to be a lot of "home"-related posts during the next time... for as you may know, I,Simea and our family have renovated an old house since last year and I wrote a book about this process... thats going to be published this summer. Because of the book I wasnt really able to show you a lot of the house... after all... it should be a surprise for you... but... we were only able to put half of the rooms into the book... and since there is a bathroom, two kids bedrooms, an office and a second living room still THERE... and we are working on that, as I write, I can promise you a lot of Home-pojects from now on.

Ich beginne mit meinem Bad - ich glaube, das ist mein Lieblingsraum im ganzen Haus. Ich liebe es, in der Badewanne zu liegen. In unserem alten Zuhause, das sehr schlecht isoliert und praktisch immer zu kalt war... habe ich oft jeden Tag - oder sagen wir 5x die Woche - ein Bad genommen. Zum Aufwärmen:D So ist der Raum ein wichtiger Raum, in dem ich wichtige Zeit verbringe... Aber darüber bald mehr.
Als ich also das Bad plante, hab ich mich noch mal im Bereich Fliesen umgesehen. Aber ich fand Fliesen immer langweilig (so STANDARD). Und es gibt nur Fliesen auf dem Küchenboden und direkt in der Dusche, weil es da ja nicht anders geht. Weil selbst Fliesen mit coolem Holz-Look sind eben Fliesen - und machen kalte Füße. Da nehm ich immer lieber Vinyl oder Laminat. Ich hasse kalte Füße!
Aber dann habe ich einige Zeit in Pinterest verbracht und... festgestellt... dass es ja ganz tolle Fliesen da draußen gibt. Dass es ja wirklich GENIALE Fliesen da draußen gibt... Viel mehr, als ich dachte, als ich mich anfing, umzusehen. Und die wollte ich mit euch teilen - weil vielleicht findet ihr das ja auch, dass Fliesen langweilig sind? Weil vielleicht müsst ihr da umdenken! (Genau wie ich!)

I am starting with the bathroom, my - I think - favorite room of the whole house. I love to take a bath. In our old home, where it was very poorly isolated and always cold, I used to take a bath every day. Or... five days a week... just to get warm. So the bathroom is a room, where I spend a lot of important time... for I recreate in there:D More about this... soon...
but... when I planned the room, I started looking into tiles. Tiles - for me - always were boring. Of course there are a lot of nice designs by now, but why take wood tiles, when I could take laminate or vinyl.. Why have cold feet? (I hate cold feet!)
So there are not many tiles in our home at all... I hate the tiles on the walls... so we only have tiles in the shower.  - you know, where we really need them:D
And on the kitchen floors, which is probably wise... 
But then I spent some time in Pinterest and guess what... there are great tiles out there. There are awesome tiles out there. There are so many awesome tiles out there... that I may use more than I thought when I started looking. And I wanted to share them with you - because maybe you think like me and of tiles as boring? Then... think again, may friend:D

Ornament-Fliesen sind der neuste Trend - keiner muss mehr langweilige rechteckige Fliesen kaufen, wenn er nicht will:D

Very cute is that idea to combine tiles with many colors of one family

Meine Lieblingsentdeckung war und ist aber die sogenannte Patchwork-Fliesenkunst (via Pinterest hier) Die hats mir so angetan, die wurde auch in unserem zweiten Bad eingesetzt - darüber werde ich noch ausführlich berichten!!!
My favorite discovery is this patchwork-tile-technique. I like it so much, that I used it in our second bathroom - wait till I tell you about that one.
